Calendar layout

Showcase your tasks in the calendar layout by week, month, or year views and add new tasks according to date.

Updated today

Along with list, board, and roadmap layouts, Dart also has a calendar layout.

You can access the calendar by clicking on the layout switcher in the top right corner of the application:

calendar layout

Also at the top right, just below your filter icon and layout switcher, is a drop-down menu that will allow you to choose whether you want to see your tasks according to week, month or year. When you choose "week " or "month" the full current week or month will appear. If you choose "year" you will see the current month but will be able to scroll up and down to explore past and future months. Use the "Today" button to return to the current date when you've been looking at dates weeks or months in the past or future:

From the calendar layout, you can create new tasks or move your existing tasks around by clicking and dragging. To create a new task, simply hover over a date on the calendar and click on the "+". A new window will appear, allowing you to add your new task's details (Name, Attachments, Subtasks, etc.):

From any opened task add assignees, attachments, subtasks, set your status, and more.

Layout Options

The calendar layout provides flexibility when it comes to displaying your tasks. This helps you build out a project that's easy to understand at a glance.

Absent Parents

From the layout switcher at the top right of your screen, you can also choose a toggle on whether to show absent parents or not:

This is only relevant if tasks on the calendar are subtasks of other tasks. If the tasks they are subtasks of are in different dartboards or are filtered out in some way, you will be able to visualize them with the toggle on.

Color By

There’s also an option to “color by”. This will allow you to color the tasks in the calendar by priority, type, or status to help you to better visualize your tasks:

Properties

Add a property (assignee, tags, due date, and more) as well right from the drop-down menu at the top right:

If you need to further filter your dartboard, to pinpoint specific tasks, Dart does that as well.
