Find deleted tasks in trash

Updated this week

When you delete tasks, dartboards, and spaces, all of the tasks go to the trash in Dart.

Deleting items

You can delete things like tasks by using keyboard shortcuts such as ⌘+ delete on Mac and Ctrl + backspace on PC. To delete a task directly, you can also click on the task, choose the more options icon in the top right of your screen and click on delete:

Similarly, you can delete a space or dartboard by hovering over their titles (located in the column on the left side of your screen), choosing the more options icon, and then choosing delete:

Restoring Tasks

You can always retrieve any task you delete by going to your trash. This is located at the top left of your screen. To access it, click on your workspace icon and click on Trash in the dropdown menu. You can also use the shortcut G + R.

From here you can search for any specific task you are trying to find. You can also filter and sort in trash to help you search for specific tasks. Your filtering options will be available at the top of your screen:

To restore a task you can open it, click on the more options button, and then choose to restore the task.

You can also drag any task, or even multiple tasks at a time, into a dartboard on the left side of the screen to restore and move them into that dartboard.

Permanently deleting tasks

Everything will remain in trash. However, if you want to permanently delete something, you'll have to delete it again in trash.

You can permanently delete tasks individually in the same way you first moved them to trash.

Alternatively you can permanently delete everything in the trash. To do this click Empty in the top right of your screen. Once you proceed with emptying the trash permanently, it cannot be undone.
