Duplicate tasks

Find and organize your duplicate tasks so your team isn't duplicating work.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Sometimes, you may come across a duplicate task. You may want to remove it or change the relationship of the task in order to keep your project organized.

Set or remove relationships and delete duplicate tasks

If you want to set the relationship of the duplicate task (for example, if you want to set the task as a parent, mark it as duplicated, or reference another task), you can do so from the Relationships section in your duplicate task. Simply click on the “+” to the right of Relationships and set your duplicate task’s relationship:

If you want to remove the relationship of the task(s) within the open task, hover over the desired task and click on the "x" at the top right of the duplicate task:

If you decide you do not need the duplicate and would like to delete the open task, you can click on the more icon “…” in the task and click “delete.”

Looking at duplicates in open tasks

You can open a task to look at duplicates.

You’ll notice when you open a task with a duplicate or a relationship associated with it (“Relationships”), these will appear within the task. Within your task window, you will be able to see all tasks associated with the open task. It will also have a link to the related task (or tasks), which you can click on to open:

Duplicates from replicated dartboards and spaces

When you replicate a dartboard or space, the tasks within each will also replicate. These will be recognized as duplicates. To see which space a duplicate task is related to, hover over it to reveal more information about the duplicate:

Note that, when actively creating new tasks, Dart AI has the capability for duplicate detection and will let you know, in real-time, if you are creating a duplicate.
